The Glovemaker is a humane, high-velocity glimpse into the ever-simmering dilemmas of faith and conscience. Please listen to the interview to get a better sense of where this tale could take you. I won't give away any more about this story. The mystery of her husband's disappearance is the underlying thread that winds through this fictional imagining of people who really lived in a small settlement during that period, a community which no longer exists. Fortunately there is a neighbor who has been looking out for her. So where is he? Deborah has been lonely and she has had to deal with some stressful situations while he has been gone. The isolated community of Junction provides the backdrop for a drama that involves a woman, Sister Deborah, who is waiting for her husband to return home after a long journey.

Ann Weisgarber has set her latest novel "The Glovemaker" in a remote region in Utah during the late 1880's.
